How we work

We partner with Samburu organisations in which we are directly involved. In many cases we helped to birth these, and we continue to be directly involved in assisting with structure, policy and best practice. 

This website represents our two sister organisations Mission Samburu Ministry Limited (MSML) and Mission Samburu Australia Limited (MSAL).

MSML advances the Christian religion by showing love and concern for God’s disadvantaged people and by taking the opportunity to explain God’s plan of salvation through Christ including but not limited to:

a. Directly coordinating activities in Australia and overseas to facilitate the attainment of the Object (or Purpose), and adequately funding or resourcing such activities from sources within Australia and overseas;

b. Partnering with local organisations to provide ministry activities, pastors, church planting, theological education and discipleship.

MSAL provides benevolent relief to the Samburu of Northern Kenya and related communities suffering from poverty, distress, sickness, disability, destitution, misfortune, or helplessness by:

a. Directly coordinating activities in Australia and overseas to facilitate the attainment of the Object (or Purpose), and adequately resourcing such activities from sources within Australia and overseas;

b. Partnering with local organisations to provide relief, education, and initiate local social impact projects.

The MSAL Business Plan also says the motivation of MSAL’s benevolent relief is that of advancing the Christian religion by showing love and concern for God’s disadvantaged people and for the opportunity to explain God’s plan of salvation through Christ.

All finances sent from Australia abide by the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission's requirements for accountability, record keeping and reporting. MSAL and MSML spending is audited by an external auditor annually. MSAL and MSML each have an Australian Board of Directors that monitors all operations and practices fit within Biblical guidelines and Mission Samburu policies. All our Australian-based staff are volunteers.
